UPDATES MONDAYS

Infernally Employed is an original series by Mariko Abe and loosely based on the Japanese folklore tale Momotaro.

Momotaro is a talented but lazy software engineer content who’d rather hook up with his partner, Tamaki, than write a single line of code. After a party goes awry, he finds himself low on cash and reluctantly joins Bettr, a tech conglomerate. Unfortunately, the management team is made up of demons determined to push AI onto their company to free up employees… So they can be eaten instead.

Infernally Employed is an ongoing series set in the city of Cosmopolis and the first story in the series is Cold Hands, Cold Heart.

About Cold Hands, Cold Heart

Tamaki Sakurai is your typical corporate consultant. Every week, they fly out of town at dawn to put in long days at the offices of Bettr, their tech giant client. Then at the end of each day, it’s back to a generic hotel for a grab-n-go dinner and a video chat with the friends back home that Tamaki desperately misses.

It’s just modern life in the digital age—but there’s something lurking outside the confines of Tamaki’s hotel room, and it’s not here to allay Tamaki’s crushing loneliness.
